Don Nadermann
Certified Senior Instructor, MCT, CTT, MCP
After 23 years in the restaurant Industry, Don wanted a change in his career path. Discovering New Horizons in 1998 allowed him to bring his experiences of multi-unit management into the classroom environment.
Whether he is teaching Project Management, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, or any one of the other 30+ application level classes he teaches at New Horizons of Des Moines, Don is able to "speak the language" of both the student and the software application.
Using real-world examples, his personal fulfillment comes from knowing he has made each student's work life a little easier by helping them master their software products.
JoAnn Van Vleet
Instructor, CMAA, CBCS, CPT
JoAnn has been teaching with New Horizons since 2011 and has been very excited to become a part of the company.
JoAnn is a licensed teacher and is Microsoft Certified, Billing and Coding Certified, Medical Administrative Assistant Certified, and Pharmacy Technician Certified. She really enjoys the New Horizons learning environment and is in training for design and Adobe classes.
Prior to New Horizons, JoAnn taught 2nd-grade education with the Urbandale School District of Iowa.
Her personal fulfillment is to see her students' excitement of newly learned knowledge of applications.
Jes Gonzalez
Computer Applications Instructor
Jes has been with New Horizons since 2008, and in addition to teaching applications classes he also works on the company's schedules, newslettes, and online profiles.
Prior to working at New Horizons, Jes worked for over twelve years in the market research field, leading classes on phone etiquette, interviewing techniques, and active listening.
At New Horizons, Jes's classes focus on the Microsoft Office Suite. Jes enjoys assisting students in understanding Office products and is very proud of the success New Horizons has had in helping many students achieve certification with Microsoft.
