After completing this course, students will be able to:

·         Create a Reporting Services report.

·         Enhance reports using dynamic visibility, report maps and initiating actions

·         Use each of the data regions including Tables, List, Chart, Matrix and Gauge

·         Create and manipulate data sets.

·         Use report models to build reports

·         Publish Reports to Various Destinations

Audience:

This course is intended for Business Users and IT professionals supporting business users who need to create ad hoc reports or reports for distribution through SQL Server Reporting Services using Report Builder 2.0.

Prerequisites:

Before attending this course, students should have:

·         Experience navigating the Microsoft Office environment.

·         SQL Server query language (SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, and DELETE).

Outline:

Module 1: Authoring Basic Reports

The students will learn the fundamentals of report authoring, including configuring data sources and data sets, creating tabular reports, summarizing data, and applying basic formatting.

Lessons

After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Create a basic table report.
  • Format report pages.
  • Calculate values for a report.

Module 2: Enhancing Basic Reports

The students will learn about navigational controls and some additional types of data regions, and how to use them to enhance a basic report.
